S.T.A.R Transition: From buddy to coordinator

(I look good!)

The change from buddy to coordinator over a semester is scary and can be intimidating especially when you have to work with others such as Rita Tautonico, Alice Wong and Michael Fallon that have been doing this position for quite some time. To make it worse for me, Michael is my own mentor for S.T.A.R. The first day was just learning the ropes, creating draft emails, documenting my work, calling mentors and buddies, and so much more. I wasn't even sure I could handle it all in one day because I made so many rookie mistakes by simply moving in any direction. Even with all of my mistakes, S.T.A.R accepted me and worked with me, and my rookie mistakes.
S.T.A.R is a family where Dean Willis and Dean D are the heads of the household. Dean D pushes you to your maximum potential, even if that means you make multiple mistakes to get it right. Then you have your older brothers and sisters of coordinators that help you with your S.T.A.R problems and answer any S.T.A.R questions. My S.T.A.R family showed me how to work out my kinks and problems and I slowly began to make less and less mistakes. On a side note, they also give amazing fashion tips for a professional setting. I am currently in my second week and my work ethic is getting better each day. I haven't learned everything there is to know about S.T.A.R, but one day I will and by then I am hopeful that I am able help a new coordinator and show him or her the ropes of the S.T.A.R. program.

HAVE A GREAT SPRING BREAK!

With love,
